Today we'll start a two week unit on InDesign. With InDesign you can combine Photoshop files and Illustrator files to create documents to share with others. Watch the videos above your own before starting your assignment below.  



  • To open InDesign:
    • Click on the START button
    • Next click on Adobe InDesign CC 2018
We're going to practice some InDesign features.  We are just practicing today.  Explore.  Have fun.  Don't stress!  We are learning how to use this, some for the first time...

  • What is InDesign?
  • Compare InDesign to Photoshop
  • Show some features of InDesign
    • Shapes
    • Fill
    • Stroke (borders)
    • Text
    • Effects
  • InDesign "Practice Document"  (8" by 10")
    • Create a minimum of five shapes
    • Practice using fill, stroke, and align tools
      • Each shape needs different designs
      • Experiment and try various things
    • Create a title and add your name
      • Change fonts
      • Change fill, stroke - try gradients
      • Apply different effects on title and name text
    • Add four more words
      • Use different fonts
      • Fill, stroke, effects
    • Insert a frame and place one of your Photoshop pictures
      • Experiment with this
    • Save as an InDesign file - id
    • Export (File, Export) as a .jpg and save
    • Post to Google Classroom  #indesignpractice
